If you're looking for routes which you don't have to pay for to download, this is what you want. They're all available out on the web if you have the time to look but I've done all the hard work sourcing them so you don't have to scratch around. Just click on the link next to the walk No. and this will take you through to the appropriate web page. Please be aware of any copyright provisions which may apply. I have generally tended to exclude 'journalistic diary' walks (ie ones which describe so and so's walk along the river on 25th June type of thing) in favour of instructive narratives with, if possible, a route map. This is a pilot and will be rolled out to other areas if well received. NOTES The content within this website is provided through links to other websites. Bestwalks does not accept responsibility for the content of those sites or the accuracy of any information contained within them. Gradings are determined by a combination of our own assessment and the contents of the linked-to webpages. They are not cast in tablets of stone and visitors must satisfy themselves that any particular walk is within their capability. The gradings must be regarded as relative, e.g. a walk described as 'moderate' may be easy to some but difficult to others. Weather conditions and time of year are factors which should be taken into account.
Altitude and Total Ascent - Time Allow - The estimated time likely to be needed to complete the walk at a reasonable pace, as provided by the linked-to websites. Novice, inexperienced walkers or obsessive photographers etc. may require more time. Again, weather conditions and time of year should be taken into account. You are advised to take the relevant OS maps and a compass on all but the easy routes. ►Books on Walking Dartmoor (compare prices)
