Walking in Pembrokeshire: 41 Circular Walks in the National Park, Dennis and Jan Kelsall - The spectacular coastal scenery of Pembroke's national park is only one of the county's many facets explored in this collection of 40 varied and interesting walks. The routes take you through the Preseli Hills (from which ancient man took the 'bluestones' for Stonehenge), the Daugleddau's hidden tidal reaches (once busy with coal barges), deep wooded gorges (whose fast-flowing streams powered long-forgotten mills), prehistoric hill forts, medieval castles, isolated churches and many intriguing places that await discovery. With 40 routes ranging between 2 and 12 miles (20km), there is something for everyone, often incorporating places to visit or a welcoming pub or cafe en route. Published December 07.

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, A Practical Guide
for Walkers, Dennis Kelsall - There is immense variety in both
the scenery and natural life of the Pembrokeshire coast and its
exploration can be equally satisfying for serious walkers and those more
inclined to potter. At any time of the year there is much to see as the
continuing cycle of nature successively reveals its different moods and
aspects. This guide is designed to assist in the planning of a
long-distance walk as well as to provide a companion to point out some of
the interesting features along the way. The contorted nature of the coast
creates many sections that can conveniently be walked on a day basis, and
a separate chapter suggests some possibilities. An accommodation guide,
distance charts and access and transport points provide additional
information, together with an informative introduction, which includes the
region's geology, history, flora and fauna, topography and weather
conditions. The long-distance walk is divided into 15 clear sections of
between 7 and 19 miles. "The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path" provides an
almost unique association of natural beauty, habitat, variety and mood,
which is readily accessible to lovers of the countryside throughout the
year. Published August 08.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path, National Trail Guide
- Brian John - The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is one of the most popular of
the fifteen National Trails in England and Wales. Running for 186 miles
(299 km), it follows the spectacular coast of the Pembrokeshire National
Park from St Dogmaels on the peninsula's northern coast, via the lovely
towns of St David's and Tenby, and the dramatic natural harbour of Milford
Haven, to Amroth on the south coast. With its soaring cliffs, interspersed
with isolated coves and sandy beaches, this is one of the most varied and
least spoiled coastlines in the country, offering walkers a chance to
visit a host of sites of geological, historical or wildlife interest. This
book is the complete, official guide for the long-distance walker or the
weekend stroller. All you need is this one book. Published March 08.
