A 17thC former coaching inn set in open
countryside midway between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National
Parks and an excellent base for walking and touring England's North Country. Friendly, relaxed and informal,
we offer an escape from the pressures of modern life in the traditional
atmosphere of the country inn. Magnificent uninterrupted views in all
directions and our own 11 acre private nature reserve immediately to
the rear.
The Fat Lamb combines both modern amenities and comfort
with good old fashioned hospitality. The bar, with its open fire on the old
Yorkshire range, is a favourite place where visitors and locals alike can
mix, restaurant where you can sample our highly
acclaimed table d'hote menu with all dishes produced by our own chef from the best local
ingredients available. Two residents' lounges, all bedrooms en-suite (some

A luxurious country house in the heart of the
Yorkshire Dales which peeps down upon the river Ure from its
seat above the main Leyburn to Hawes road. It is set within 3 acres of
magnificent formal grounds,
stretching into views of the surrounding hills. A private gate gives access
onto a further 10 acres surrounding the property, where a gentle climb is rewarded by one of the best views imaginable.
Guests are at liberty to relax in the house and grounds
throughout the day.
We offer a choice of 9 individually styled rooms, all tastefully decorated
and furnished in keeping with the Edwardian era but blending in modern
comforts and conveniences. Many enjoy fine views of Pen Hill. Breakfast,
with a wide choice of options, is served in the elegant surroundings of our
beautiful oak panelled dining room. Sumptuous evening meals are available by
prior arrangement or we are more than happy to book guests into any of the

far reaching moorland views and is right on the Dales Way. Enjoy
