Why 'The Hand'?
The Ceiriog
Valley is known as ‘The Valley of the Poets’, such is the influence
of this evocative, secret landscape on generations of poets and
artists. Llanarmon D.C. is at the heart of the Upper Ceiriog: the
most remote, most beautiful part of the valley, set against the
backdrop of the brooding Berwyn Mountains. This is wonderful walking
country, with stunning views at every turn, and you can walk for
miles and not see another soul: so different from many of the more
well-known walking areas. If you insist on a change of scene though,
both Snowdonia and the wonderful Shropshire countryside are not far
away.
The
Hand at Llanarmon, a centuries old inn is very much a centre of
village life, embracing local people and travellers alike, with
roaring log fires in winter and a terrace garden for warmer days.
It
is everything a classic British inn should be; genuinely warm,
filled with humour and buzz, providing excellent home-cooked food
with a minimum of fuss and formality. All our rooms are en-suite,
comfortable, well-equipped and maintained to the highest standards.
Bed and Breakfast from £40 pppn. Mid-week and weekend specials.

Above
a scenic viewpoint at the edge of Harlech
village, Maelgwyn commands stunning views of the Llyn Peninsula, Tremadog
Bay and Harlech Castle. Ideally placed for exploring Snowdonia and the much under-used Rhinog
Mountains where there is excellent walking. It takes its name from

We offer a choice of king size and twin rooms. All are en-suite and
recently refurbished to a high standard. The two rooms at the front
of the house offer spectacular views across Tremadog Bay. The others
have views across the garden and to the surrounding hills.
Maelgwyn House is a 10 minute walk down to the 8 mile long beach and
an ideal base for many outdoor activities. As one guest put it "...
the perfect stay for the keen walker. Very friendly service and
hearty breakfasts."
Bed and Breakfast from £35 pppn.
